On Aug 29, the 19th Changchun Film Festival hosted the "Lun Ju Qiu Ben" film-themed seminar at Changchun University of Science and Technology in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province. Jointly organized by Changchun Film Group and the university, the event gathered over 300 industry experts, scholars, and students.
Established by Changchun Film Group in January 2020, the "Lun Ju Qiu Ben" seminar has become a signature festival event. This year's theme, "Harnessing Cultural Strength for Modernization in Chinese Cinema", focused on exploring the latest trends in both Chinese and global film development. The seminar aimed to provide constructive guidance for China's film industry, addressing emerging challenges, trends, and values.
Since its establishment in 2013, the Changchun Film Culture Research Base at Changchun University of Science and Technology has collaborated closely with Changchun Film Group. This partnership has significantly contributed to preserving and innovating Jilin province's cultural heritage. The seminar provides a platform for discussing the future of Chinese cinema, emphasizing the importance of maintaining cultural roots while meeting global audiences' expectations.
The "Lun Ju Qiu Ben" seminar, now in its fourth consecutive year, has become a vital component of the Changchun Film Festival, offering valuable academic and practical resources for China's film industry.
