Jilin Border Forest Marathon held at Changbai Mountain

Between the clouds and peaks of Tianchi, elite runners gathered for the Jilin Border Forest Marathon on Changbai Mountain on June 16 in Northeast China's Jilin province.

The event, certified by the China Athletics Association, featured both a half marathon and a mini health run, attracting over 3,000 runners from across the country.

The marathon route artfully combined the natural beauty and cultural landmarks of the mountain. Participants ran through scenic spots like the Changbai Scotch Pine Forest, Erdaobaihe Avenue, the Bicycle Park and the Mandarin Duck Station – experiencing the natural and cultural landscape up close.

After strong competition, Wang Zirong won the men's half marathon title with a time of 1:12:21, while Wu Guoying won the women's half marathon in 1:28:47.

The marathon a great running experience through the Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve's pristine forests, with runners breathing in the fresh and rich air.

"Running at the foot of the national 5A tourist attraction Changbai Mountain was incredible," said participant Wang Qingyu from Hebei.

"I felt rejuvenated after finishing the half marathon, completely immersed in the joy of running through the forest," he added.

The well-organized event ensured a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, making it not just a sports competition but also a visual and cultural bonanza.
