The 2024 Jilin Summer Consumption Season officially began on May 25 and this shopping bonanza – which will light up the province in Northeast China with great deals, discounts and other incentives – runs to Sept 1, spanning 100 days.

Building on the success of the province-wide 1·8 Consumption Festival and connecting with the upcoming 9·8 Consumption Festival, the event aims to bolster summer activities, create vibrant summer consumption scenes, and spark a wave of pure customer shopping fun.

The goal is to lead consumer trends and to drive steady economic growth forwards throughout the province.

With its themes of the Summer Consumption Season and the Ignite Night Economy, the extravaganza features six major segments covering night consumption, cultural heritage, sports and fitness, bulk consumption, life services and concentrated consumption.

In addition, four monthly themed activities will be staged – the Ignite Night Economy, the Boost Consumption launch ceremony, the Discover Jilin's Landmark Cuisine Online Contest, the second round of the night consumption cluster area selections and the 2024 Jilin Beer and Summer Food Festival.

Innovative retail promotions will be rolled out, with a raft of shopping vouchers distributed – creating a bright and breezy vibe with a continuous run of exciting promotions and events.

Overall, the initiative aims to accelerate new development patterns in Jilin, foster its high-quality growth, speed up emerging consumer spending and expand traditional shopping.

It will also seek to optimize the retail environment, develop different consumer scenarios and establish Jilin's consumption brand.

The Jilin Provincial Department of Commerce, along with other departments and regions, have carefully organized the series of activities to ensure the best-ever shopping experience and have implemented beneficial policies for the public and businesses alike.
