Taonan launches apricot blossom festival

Taonan in Northeast China's Jilin province kicked off its "Cultural Gathering: Taonan City Welcomes Spring" event series on April 20, which coincided with its apricot blossom-viewing season and drew in crowds of tourists.

With the theme "Blossoming Apricots, Spring in Taonan", the main venue in the Yongmao Township State-owned Forest Protection Area will host several activities until May 3.

The event series will feature a grand stage showcasing of local cultural performances against a backdrop of apricot blossoms. This includes dances, music, traditional costume fashion shows, and opera performances, providing a delightful visual treat.

Visitors can also participate in family-friendly interactive games, like ball games, relay races, and treasure hunts, adding to the enjoyment. Other attractions include kite flying performances, photography contests, and a tour that showcases Taonan's charm.

Taonan has strategically utilized its rural natural resources in order to promote its cultural and tourism sectors, which has boosted rural industries and contributed to economic growth.
