The sixth CRRC Cup National Science and Technology Competition on Renewable Energy (North China division) opened in Changchun, Jilin province on April 13.

This competition is designed for college and university students.

During the opening ceremony, Liu Changqing, president of CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co, expressed that CRRC Changchun actively implements the national dual-carbon strategy. It also strives to contribute to the sustained surge of new quality productive forces in China's renewable energy sector.

Standing at the cusp of the company's 70th anniversary, CRRC Changchun will accelerate the implementation of its "dual-carbon ecosystem solution" business layout in order to contribute to the region's comprehensive revitalization.

At the event, the "Hydrogen Equipment Research Institute" was unveiled.

CRRC aims to become a provider of systematic solutions for the hydrogen energy industry, while also actively implementing the "Hydrogen-Powered Jilin" strategy.

This competition was initiated by the China Renewable Energy Society in 2018 and has been held continuously for five sessions. Starting this year, CRRC will sponsor the competition for five consecutive years, supporting its continuous development.

This year's competition opened registration in September 2023 and attracted 2,624 teams from 326 universities nationwide. After preliminary and semifinal evaluations, 101 scientific works from North China qualified for the semifinals.
