The 2024 Spring Job Fair for University Graduates in Jilin, jointly organized by the Jilin Provincial Department of Education and Jilin University, was held on March 26.

The job fair, titled "High-Quality Matching of Supply and Demand, High-Level Employment and Talent Cultivation", aims to promote employment among graduates and provide talent support for Jilin.

A total of 826 employers participated in the fair, offering over 47,000 positions. Among them were several industry-leading enterprises and institutions, including China FAW Group Co, China Academy of Engineering Physics, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation and Aviation Industry Corporation of China.

Participating employers came from 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country, including 324 from the three northeastern provinces of Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning, 107 from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and 153 from the Yangtze River Delta region. The employers from the three regions accounted for 70 percent of the total.

There were 269 State-owned and central government-owned enterprises, 287 private enterprises, and 114 medical and health institutions, while a majority of positions were the in manufacturing, construction, electricity, and heat industries.

Majors in areas such as information science, engineering, and medicine were in high demand, with manufacturing industry positions comprising the highest proportion. Conversely, there was a relatively little demand for majors in areas such as humanities, social sciences, earth sciences, agriculture, and some of the natural sciences.

Sun Zhuo, director of the Guidance Department at the Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance and Service Center of Jilin University, said that this year's job fair is the largest yet, offering the most positions and attracting the highest number of employers among in-person spring recruitment events in recent years.
