Revolutionizing traditional farming methods with technology to boost productivity has always been at the forefront of the endeavors of Han Fengxiang, a province deputy to the ongoing second session of the 14th National People's Congress.

In 2023, a cooperative she heads up there was included in the national digital agricultural innovation application base construction project.

"Using drones and monitoring stations to collect, monitor, analyze and alert people with real-time data on the environment, soil and more, this 'smart brain' helps us identify and tackle issues," Han explained.

Since 2008, Lishu county's Agricultural Technology Promotion Station has collaborated with China Agricultural University and Jilin Agricultural University to organize high-yield maize competitions for farmers.

Focused on a singular goal, constant communications and exchanges of planting experiences have been actively encouraged, with agricultural experts invited to provide on-site guidance – expediting the application of technological achievements in the fields.

As the head of a professional agricultural machinery cooperative, Han has been deeply invested in the mechanization of agriculture.

Consequently, she has suggested that relevant government departments should prioritize agricultural machinery safety, intensify supervision and management of machinery production, sales, usage and safety.

Furthermore, she has emphasized the need for examinations and assessments for operators of agricultural machinery – such as tractors and combine harvesters – according to regulations. Manufacturers have been urged to enhance their design standards to eliminate safety hazards at the source.
