Jilin province and South Chungcheong province established a friendly relationship on August 21, 2019.

South Chungcheong province is a region of western South Korea. It is mostly composed of plains and is a vital transportation hub connecting the capital Seoul with the southern region by both rail and road.

It is located in the Hoseo region in the southwest of the Korean Peninsula, and borders the province of Gyeonggi to the north, North Chungcheong province, Sejong special autonomous city, and Daejeon metropolitan city to the east, and North Jeolla to the south.
