The company was established in 1959 and completed production in 1964. It has now developed into a large State-owned enterprise specializing in the production and sale of chemical fibers. Leading products include rayon, acrylic fiber, bamboo fiber, carbon fiber and traditional Chinese medicine, with more than 600 varieties in total. The company's customers are spread across more than 20 provinces and cities in China, as well as over 30 countries and regions in Asia, Europe, the Americas and in Africa.

The company is the world's largest production base for rayon, the largest production base for acrylic fiber and the largest production base for bamboo fiber. It is also the largest carbon fiber production base in China, with the highest single-line efficiency and the most complete range of specifications. Additionally, it is the only national base for health functional textiles materials and is a national base for differentiated research and development of acrylic fiber.
