The Liaoyuan Sock Industry Park was funded and constructed in August 2005. It covers an area of 1 million sq m and has built factories and affiliated facilities totaling 1.45 million sq m. There are 1,210 enterprises in the park with an annual production capacity of 3.5 billion pairs of socks and a total annual output value of 12 billion yuan.

The park provides direct and indirect employment for 45,000 people. It has obtained more than 130 national and provincial-level qualifications and honors and is the national standard-setting and testing base for socks. It is a large-scale industrial park with the most complete global supply chain for the specialized production of cotton socks.

The park has been recognized as a National Advanced Enterprise in Employment by the State Council. It has been named by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security as a National Demonstration Base for Entrepreneurship Incubation for College Students and recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a National Public Service Demonstration Platform for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises – and as a National Demonstration Base for Small and Micro Enterprises Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
