Jiashutai Lake National Wetland Park
|Jiashutai Lake National Wetland Park is the only national-level wetland park in the Siping region. It is composed of natural wet meadows and marshes, grasslands, forests, and Jiashutai Lake, with a total area of 2,092.2 hectares. The lake usually covers an area of 500 hectares, but due to abundant rainfall in the past two years, it can reach up to 800 hectares.
The wetland park is divided into five zones: wetland restoration zone, wetland conservation zone, rational use zone, management service zone, and publicity display zone.
The wetland park is rich in resources, with unique landscapes. It is home to a total of 254 species of wild plants, among which the wild soybean is a national second-level key protected plant.
It is also home to 217 species of wild vertebrates, including 170 species of birds. Among them, there are 45 species of nationally key protected wild animals, including seven species of national first-level key protected birds, 34 species of national second-level key protected birds, three species of national second-level key protected animals, and one world critically endangered species – the forest owlet.
Of other animals in the wetland park, nearly 50 species of protected animals are listed on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species.
