Chen Yun Former Residence
|Chen Yun, then Deputy Secretary of the Northeast Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Deputy Political Commissar of the Northeast Democratic Allied Forces, arrived in the original Linjiang county (now Linjiang city) on Nov 27, 1946 and resided in this place. It was from here that Chen Yun commanded the famous battle of Sibao Linjiang – making it an important historical site during the Northeast Liberation War.
In the 1970s, the former residence was renovated and exhibited and it was officially opened in 1982.
The interior showcases Chen Yun's experiences in Linjiang and gives a detailed account of the battle of Sibao Linjiang through a large collection of precious photos and historical materials. It also displays some of Chen Yun's work and daily necessities.
On May 25, 2006, Chen Yun's former residence was announced as one of the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.
