Climate characteristics
|Jilin is located on the eastern side of the Eurasian continent, in the middle latitude and has a temperate continental monsoon climate with distinct four seasons. Spring is dry and windy, summer is warm and rainy, autumn is cool and pleasant, while winter is cold and long. The average annual temperature is 2 C to 6 C and the average annual sunshine hours in the province range from 2,259 to 3,016 hours. The average annual precipitation is 400 to 600 millimeters, but there are significant seasonal and regional differences, with 80 percent of the rainfall concentrated in the summer and the eastern part receiving the most abundant rainfall.
