Automotive giant China FAW Group and Israel-headquartered autonomous driving and driver-assistance tech company Mobileye signed a strategic cooperation memorandum on Sept 13 in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province. 

Under its terms, Mobileye is to deepen its cooperation with the Changchun-based auto manufacturer. 

FAW president Liang Guiyou and Nimrod Nehushtan, executive vice president of Mobileye, signed the agreement.

The accord marks the establishment of a new partnership, where both FAW Group and Mobileye will leverage their respective industry strengths in software, hardware and technological products.

They said they aim to combine technology and products to provide users with efficient and enjoyable travel experiences.

As a pioneer in the Chinese automotive industry, FAW Group says it has continuously promoted technological innovation and service upgrades over its 70-year development history, constantly raising the bar for user experiences.

Mobileye – known for its know-how in computer vision, artificial intelligence, mapping and data analysis – has been one of those leading the mobility revolution with its advanced driver-assistance systems and autonomous driving technologies.

It is a leading global player in developing advanced driver-assistance systems and autonomous driving solutions, based on visual system analysis and data processing.

The strategic cooperation agreement between the two is said to signify a significant step towards the development of intelligent driving technology. By combining their expertise and resources, their aim is to accelerate the adoption of autonomous driving technologies and boost road safety and user experiences.

The collaboration is seen as holding great promise for the future of the auto industry and is said to underscore China's commitment to technological advancements and innovation in the field of intelligent transportation.
