Jilin launches special tourist trains bound for Arxan

Northeast China's Jilin province launched a special tourist train linking to Arxan in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, with the debut train Y518/5 departing Jilin city on May 18 with around 300 passengers, according to local media.
The train, operated by China Railway Shenyang Group Co, marked the first tourist train traveling between Jilin and Arxan this year. In order to improve the travel experience for tourists, it is equipped with first aid equipment and medicines, provides a butler service, and gives professional training to train crew in advance.

Hinggan League is located in the northeast of Inner Mongolia, in the transition zone between the Greater Hinggan Mountains and the Songnen Plain. It has five tourist attractions graded at the national 4A-level or above, including Arxan National Forest Park, the Genghis Khan Temple Scenic Spot, and the Haisheng Shengquan Tourist Resort.
On May 19, the 15th Arxan Azalea Cultural Tourism Festival is set to open at Azalea Lake in Arxan National Forest Park. Passengers on this special tourist train will have the chance to witness the grand opening of the festival.
In the near future, new travel routes from Jilin to North and Northeast China will be launched – including those bound for Mohe in Heilongjiang province, and Hailaar in Inner Mongolia. The number of special tourist trains running throughout the year will be around 200.
