According to statistics, imports and exports in Jilin province increased by 3.6 percent in 2022 – with exports surging by 42.1 percent on the previous year, ranking the region fifth in the country.

That marked new progress for the high-quality opening-up of the province, located in Northeast China.

In the first quarter of this year, the province's funds for investment promotions increased by 35.7 percent and foreign trade exports, actual use of foreign capital, online retail sales and rural online retail sales all maintained relatively high growth rates.

In the first quarter of this year, auto manufacturer China FAW Group's exports more than doubled, with a total of 15,000 complete vehicles sent abroad, a year-on-year increase of 125 percent.

Jilin province has proposed that by 2025, a number of high-level open cooperation platform carriers will be upgraded to deeply integrate into the global supply chain, innovation chain and value chain.

The province plans to accelerate the opening-up of the Changchun New Area. Jilin will focus on the construction of a regional central hub in Northeast Asia, build an airport economic demonstration zone – and accelerate the construction of an airport sector dominated by air transport, advanced manufacturing and the modern service industries.

At the same time, it will support Changchun Longjia International Airport to expand its air traffic rights arrangements.

In addition, Jilin will speed up the construction of a freight distribution center and a seamless logistics channel for combined rail-sea transport and combined road-rail transport.

In the future, a special customs supervision area will be established to build a core hub for combined land-sea transport in Northeast Asia, as well as to drive the development of international trade with international logistics.
