In the wake of China-Russia Hunchun Highway Port resuming passenger clearances on Jan 8, the number of inbound and outbound passengers has continued to increase in leaps and bounds in the current year, according to local media reports.

As of March 23, the Hunchun Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station, located in Northeast China's Jilin province, had inspected and released more than 15,000 entry-exit personnel, a year-on-year increase of 183 percent.

At the same time, 2,822 domestically produced vehicles were exported via Hunchun's highways and railways, setting a record.

Hunchun Port is the only checkpoint in Jilin province open to Russia. It can directly connect to port cities such as Zarubino and Vladivostok in that country. As such, it is an important channel for China's trade with Russia.

To step things up, the Hunchun Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station has continued to optimize its customs clearance measures, implement a "7 days and 10 hours" customs clearance system at Hunchun Highway Port and make improved efforts in consultation, guidance and maintenance.

Also, fast customs clearance measures have been implemented for cross-border transport vehicles to minimize their costs and the time costs of foreign trade enterprises.
