Changchun festival features Shuangyang Strawberry

A strawberry festival opened to great fanfare on March 12 in the Shuangyang district of Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province – with the event set to grow the brand influence of the ever-popular Shuangyang Sheling Strawberry, according to local media reports.
The event, including cultural and creative markets, sightseeing and DIY activities, runs until early May.

It is understood that after more than 10 years of cultivation, the Sheling Strawberry has become a very special industry in the district.
By the end of 2022, the planting area of Sheling Strawberry greenhouses had reached 350,000 square meters, producing 700,000 kilograms annually. This has generated more than 10 million yuan ($1.45 million) cumulatively of income for farmers and employed more than 5,000 of them.
Plans are for Shuangyang district to launch a series of high-quality tourism routes, aimed at celebrating its special industries and resources.
