A yangko performance is staged in the Shuangyang community in Changchun, Jilin province, on Feb 5. Yangko is a folk recreational activity in Northeast China that originates from laborious work. Incorporating agricultural songs, water chestnut collecting songs, folk martial arts, acrobatics and operas, it has evolved into a characteristic folk song and dance.
