14th Jilin Provincial People's Congress gets under way

The first session of the 14th Jilin Provincial People's Congress opened on Jan 15 in Changchun city, in Northeast China's Jilin province, according to local media reports.

During the annual provincial congress, Jilin governor Han Jun delivered a government work report, reviewing the development achievements of the province over the past five years and in 2022 – as well as putting forward the goals and tasks for the next five years and the work arrangement for 2023.

According to the reports, in 2023 the regional GDP of Jilin province will increase by some 6 percent. Its grain output is expected to be maintained at more than 40 billion kilograms and fixed-asset investment will rise by 7 percent.

Moreover, total retail sales of social consumer goods will grow by 7 percent, while the growth rate of residents' per capita disposable income should keep pace with economic growth.
