A delegation consisting of commerce and trading enterprises – based in Northeast China's Jilin province – set off for Russia on Jan 9, in a bid to attract investment, according to local media reports.
It marked the first economic and trade delegation to visit Russia, after the passenger transport channel at the land port between China and Russia recently resumed normal operations.
The Jilin delegation consists of enterprises covering the commodities trade, international logistics, biotechnology, food processing, digital economy and other fields.

During their five-day stay in Russia, they will visit Russian commercial authorities and conduct in-depth discussions with the economic and commercial office of the Chinese Consulate General in Vladivostok and also with relevant Russian business associations.
They are expected to conduct investment promotions and business cooperation with Russian companies in areas such as coal, seafood, agricultural products, auto parts, cross-border e-commerce and international logistics.
Russia has long been an important source of investment in Jilin province. In the first 11 months of 2022, Jilin's import and export of goods to Russia increased by 74 percent year-on-year, hitting a record.
Moving forwards, plans are for Jilin to focus on actively participating in the construction of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor and to further expand new channels for opening-up.
