Changchun joins country's elite winter tourism resorts

The city of Changchun – capital of Northeast China's Jilin province – was recently selected as one of the 12 best domestic ice and snow tourism cities in the country. 

The result was announced at the 2023 China Ice and Snow Tourism Development Forum held on Jan 5 in the city of Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang, China's northernmost province. 

Changchun is widely said to be rich in ice and snow resources, giving it unique advantages in the development of its ice and snow tourism.

In recent years, Changchun has been committed to strengthening its ice and snow economy. It has been included in the list of National Top 10 Ice and Snow Cities and its ice and snow industry continues to grow with vigor and vitality.

In recent years, Changchun has optimized and upgraded its product layout in the construction of ice and snow projects and has expanded its brand influence.

For the 2022-2023 snow season, Changchun has built 37 ice and snow tourism venues with the top 10 ice and snow parks and four major ski resorts as its core products. What's more, it has developed ice and snow viewing interactive parks and ice and snow experience venues. More than 130 ice and snow activities are being organized.

The four major ski resorts in the city - Tiandingshan Ski Resort, Miaoxiangshan Ski Resort, Lianhuashan Ski Resort and Jingyuetan Ski Resort – now have a total of 48 ski trails, an increase of 15 percent on the previous season.

The maximum carrying capacity of tourists has reached 17,000 person-times, an increase of 20 percent.
