The R&D and Applications Project for Hongqi Series Passenger Vehicles developed by China FAW Group won the Excellent Project Award of the 20th China Quality Awards.

This result was announced at the 2022 China Association for Quality Annual Conference held in the national capital, Beijing, on Dec 9.

The China Quality Awards represent the highest honor in terms of quality. It is awarded to enterprises for their excellence in management and outstanding achievements in product quality, the economy and benefiting society.

The selection is organized every two years and the number of awards in each session does not exceed 10.

After years of standardized operations and development, it has become one of the world's four major quality awards – on par with the Baldrige National Quality Award in the United States, the European Quality Award and the Deming Award in Japan.

Since 2017, the R&D and Applications Project for Hongqi Series Passenger Vehicles has successively developed and launched four series of passenger vehicles – the L, H, S and Q classes – and has launched nine series of products, including the Hongqi HS5.

In 2021, Hongqi sales topped 300,000 vehicles, with the sales volume increasing 63 times in four years.
