A new-generation hybrid intercity train that was developed by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co was officially unveiled on Oct 2 in the city of Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, according to local media reports.
Based on the Fuxing EMU technology platform, the train is powered by an internal combustion power unit and a power battery pack. The train runs at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour and can carry up to 188 people.

The train uses a mixture of low-displacement, low-power internal combustion power units and high-power power batteries as traction power and employs an optimal energy management strategy. When the train is running at a low speed in the station or in urban areas, the battery power pack is given priority to achieve zero emissions.
