More than 20 experts in breeding, planting, animal husbandry, medical care and rural vitalization on Sept 21 visited Changbai Korean autonomous county – located in Northeast China's Jilin province – aiming to offer advice and consultations on agricultural science and technology and help with rural vitalization there.
During the three-day event, they went to Guoyuan village, administered by Malugou town, to conduct field investigations. They also exchanged views with local staff members on issues such as population hollowing, rural toilet renovations and rural vitalization theory and practice.
The experts held a clinic and helped to popularize science. They provided free diagnosis and treatment and health guidance services for villagers and also helped patients with serious illness to coordinate with high-quality medical resources.
According to statistics, more than 200 people participated in the free clinic activity on that day alone, saving villagers more than 60,000 yuan ($8,394) in diagnosis and treatment costs.
