An economic conference focusing on global cold regions is scheduled to open in early December in Changchun – capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province – and expectations are it will open up more extensive cooperation between Jilin and countries in the cold regions, according to local media reports.
The theme of the conference will be "Jointly Build the Ice and Snow Silk Road and Share a Bright Future in Cold Regions".
A series of activities will be held, including an opening ceremony and the World Cold Region Ice and Snow Economy International Cooperation and Development Summit Forum. There will also be the World Cold Region Ice and Snow Economic Belt Intelligent Manufacturing Summit Forum and the World Cold Region Agriculture International Cooperation and Development Forum.
The conference will also be staged online. Among those participating will be Chinese and foreign political dignitaries, the heads of international organizations, representatives of business associations, the chiefs of multinational companies, leading industry enterprises and experts.
The conference is projected to create a new platform for high-level dialogue and economic and trade cooperation in the snow economic belts in the world's cold regions.
What's more, it is expected to further promote the development of the "Ice and Snow Silk Road", as well as promote the high-quality development of the ice and snow economy in domestic cold regions, including Jilin province.
