Changchun Film Festival ends in Jilin province's capital

The week-long 17th Changchun Film Festival concluded with a glittering ceremony on Aug 28 in Changchun city, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province, according to local media reports.

Launched in 1992, the event was China's first film festival to be named after a city. Its most prestigious accolade is the Golden Deer Award, which includes 10 categories, including Best Film, the Jury Award, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay.

This year's session, marking the 30th anniversary of the film festival, included film awards, forums, screenings, classic and old film reviews and new film releases.

The film The Battle At Lake Changjin II won the Best Film Award. The film Ode to the Spring won the Jury Prize.

Zhu Yilong, the star of the film Embrace Again, won the Golden Deer Award for Best Actor. Ma Li, the star of the film Too Cool To Kill, won the Golden Deer Award for Best Actress.
