To boost gas safety in older-age communities, in 2020 the community coordinated with technology companies to install smart alarms for 1,000 residents. The initiative paved the way for the installation of gas leak alarms, the supply of information to relatives, as well as the issuing of community information.
In another initiative, the community built a canteen for the elderly, as well as establishing a convenient living circle, as the elderly over 60 years old there account for 18 percent of the total population.
The canteen offers three meals a day, priced at 7 yuan ($1.04) per meal, ensuring the quality of life of its senior residents.
The community provides such services for them as haircuts, bathing, catering, supplying medicine, as well as housekeeping and other services.
The community has liaised with the health center under its jurisdiction and designated the 6th, 16th, and 26th day of each month as consultation days for hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases – and established a health file for the elderly, that acts as a medical information archive.
