The 19th China Changchun International Auto Expo Summit Forum was held on July 15 in Changchun – capital of Northeast China's Jilin province – during which brainstorming sessions were held and views were exchanged on boosting car sales and revitalizing the economy of the region.

The one-day event was part of the 19th China Changchun International Auto Expo in Changchun, which kicked off on July 15 and will run for 10 days.

It attracted the participation of Li Weli, deputy director and senior economist of the Economic Consulting Center of the State Information Center. Also participating were officials from national organizations, executives of auto companies, dealers and representatives of business associations.

In his keynote speech, Li Weili emphasized the necessity and importance of developing new energy vehicles. He envisaged that Northeast China would, under the active leadership of Changchun, seize the opportunity to transform itself from being an old industrial base into a revitalized region.

Wang Haiyang, an executive and senior engineer from China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co, talked about the development trends of automobile consumption.

He said China was entering a new stage of development in its automobile industry.

Wang said that by optimizing purchase management and reforming usage management, a new development wave for the auto market was featuring fair purchases, efficient use and eco-friendly consumption.
