The construction of the Jida Siyuan (Fourth Hospital of Jilin University) Station for the Changchun Subway Line 7 was completed on July 1, marking the first prefabricated subway station installed by contractors China Railway 22nd Bureau Group Co.

Jida Siyuan Station is one of three prefabricated stations on the line. It is an underground two-story island station with a total length of 204 meters.

The prefabricated construction technology is a new construction method, which divides the main structure of the station into seven prefabricated concrete components – such as the bottom plate, side wall and roof – which are poured and fabricated at a prefabrication site in advance.

After the cut-and-cover construction is completed, the seven prefabricated components are assembled in sequence to form an arched structure at the construction site.

Differing from conventional rectangular stations, the arched station offers a wide interior configuration without columns.

Changchun Subway Line 7 is scheduled to extend in the southwest-northeast direction and cover Lyuyuan, Chaoyang, Nanguan, Jingkai and Erdao districts. It is 23.16 kilometers long and has 19 stations.

The subway line will go into use in April 2025. It is expected to strengthen connections between the Changchun Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone and the central urban area. This should effectively alleviate traffic congestion in Dongfeng Street, Nanhu Road and the East Ring Road section and promote the orderly development of Changchun's urban pattern.
