Jilin province's development goals released at CPC congress

Northeast China's Jilin province is due to further boost its economic development and galvanize it, in goals put forward at the 12th CPC Jilin Provincial Congress which opened in the province's capital city Changchun on June 19.

The province will remain on course with its industrial spatial layout strategy known as "One Main, Six Double", the term for a series of plans in the region.

Jilin will speed up the construction of three major industries with over 1 trillion yuan ($149 billion) in annual projected output – automobiles, tourism and the agricultural product processing and food industries. Moreover, it will expand new energy, medicine, metallurgy, petrochemicals, electronic information, new materials and other advantageous industries.

The transformation and upgrading of traditional industries will be promoted, as well as the modernization level of the entire industry supply chain in the province.

In addition, Jilin is to further optimize its business environment and talent recruitment policies.
