The Ma family in Changchun city, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province, has been leading by example in the fight against COVID-19, according to local media reports.

On March 17, father and head of the family Ma Sheng and his daughter Ma Rong went along and actively supported and assisted with street nucleic acid testing. That's after they learned that the nucleic acid testing site at No 104 Middle School in the Dianli community, in Nanguan district, was in urgent need of volunteers.

The dad and his daughter worked together with other volunteers and staff members to successfully complete the nucleic acid testing of more than 6,000 people.

On March 19, both of them, along with Zheng Lidong, Ma Rong's mom, distributed self-test kits in the Guoxin Jiayi community, to help with the fight against the epidemic.

After five hours of continuous work, they distributed self-test kits to more than 180 households.

Zheng Lidong served as a community member of staff with Jiayuan community in Changchun's Nanguan district. She worked with community employees and volunteers to sort out information from house to house, helping to ensure that nucleic acid testing for all residents was carried out in an orderly manner.
