Wang Songer, an inspiring young woman in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province, has been leading by example.

By deeply engaging in providing vital COVID-19 prevention and control work, she's been doing her bit in the province's fight against the novel coronavirus epidemic.

Facing the current round of the COVID-19 outbreak in Jilin province, Wang immediately submitted a volunteer service application where she lived and assumed duties with the Dongtian community.

Under the close-off community management, Wang drove her own car to escort the elderly in the community to the hospital for dialysis and distributed nucleic acid self-test kits and Chinese medicine to residents.

Even during a quarantine period at home, Wang took the initiative to help the community to carry out the investigation of "suspected close contacts". The investigation flow survey data was collated for 12 days, the number of investigations was 182 and more than 750 pieces of resident-related information were registered.

During the investigation work, she also helped the elderly living alone to get vegetable packages.

Amid the critical period, when the epidemic was at its most severe and the supplies were in short supply, Dongtian community organized for residents to purchase supplies in a unified manner and Wang joined the materials handling team.

Even if the supplies are delivered to the community at 11 o'clock at the night or 5 o'clock in the morning, she will be there to distribute the daily necessities to residents as quickly as possible.
