The moment Su Yiming won the gold medal in the men's Olympic Big Air event on Tuesday, a great cheer went up from a group of skiers who were training at Tiger Ridge Mountain Park in the Changbai Mountain Scenic Area in Jilin province.

Since the winter of 2018, Su, who also won silver in the snowboard slopestyle competition at the Beijing Games on Feb 7, had spent three consecutive ski seasons training at the park.

The park opened in 2018 and has world-class training facilities and competition venues to meet the training needs of professional athletes as well as skiing enthusiasts of all levels.

There are different skiing venues, including international standard slopestyle, big air, halfpipe, moguls and parallel slalom training.

It also has a ski training school led by top international snowboard instructors.

Since its opening, the park has hosted several national-level and provincial-level ski competitions and welcomes over 30,000 professional athletes to train there every year.
