CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co – based in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province – turned heads on Jan 6 when it launched Fuxing bullet trains with decorations in honor of the upcoming 2022 Winter Olympics.
The games, also known as Beijing 2022, will be held in and around China's national capital on Feb 4-20.
The razor-sharp outline of the train and the funky exterior design motifs make the train appear to be rocketing through the landscape, even when it is standing still.
The new-type Fuxing electrical multiple unit or EMU train adds intelligent driving functions and can reportedly realize automatic driving at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour for the first time in the world. It has advanced functions such as automatic departures from stations, automatic operations of sections, automatic parking at stations and automatic door controls.
The futuristic train is sid to integrate "high-speed rail + 5G + 4K" technology to create the world's first high-speed rail 5G ultra-high-definition Olympics communications studio – enabling it to livestream events live via 5G high-definition broadcasts.

The No 5 carriage of the EMU is a multi-functional carriage with a comprehensive media work area. It provides 12 desks, international sockets, push-pull small tables and other facilities, which can seat 48 people and provide an office environment for media professionals.
There are ski equipment storage cabinets at the two ends of the No 1, 4 and 8 carriages for ski enthusiasts to store their kit and belongings and ski equipment locks are provided.
The No 4 carriage also comes equipped with a wheelchair storage area, barrier-free toilets and platform compensators – to facilitate easy and efficient storage and passage of wheelchairs to meet the needs of the Winter Paralympics.
