Meet the world's heaviest meteorite in Jilin

A meteorite is on display in the Jilin City Meteorite Museum, located in Jilin, Northeast China's Jilin province. A meteorite shower fell on the suburbs of Jilin and Yongji county on March 8, 1976. The meteorites' quantity, weight and range were unusual for such a shower. [Photo provided to gojilin.gov.cn]

The "Jilin No 1 meteorite" is on display in the museum. The meteorite weighs 1,770 kilograms, making it the heaviest meteorite to hit Earth. [Photo provided to gojilin.gov.cn]
