The opening ceremony of the 25th Changchun Ice and Snow Festival is held on Dec 12 in Changchun Ice and Snow New World, in Changchun city, Northeast China's Jilin province. The festival is set to stage a wide range of ice and snow events in the city. [Photo provided to gojilin.gov.cn]

Themed around "Changchun Ice and Snow Cheer for the Winter Olympics", this year's ice and snow festival runs from Oct 27 – the 100-day countdown to the Beijing 2022 Winter Games – to Feb 23 in 2022. [Photo provided to gojilin.gov.cn]

The five themed areas in the park offer some wonderful 160 ice and snow buildings and creations – including colorful ice towers, ancient castles and snow sculptures. More than 670,000 cubic meters of ice and snow have been used in their construction. [Photo provided to gojilin.gov.cn]

The park, incorporating Chinese and Western styles, is seen as providing an engrossing world for winter visitors. Activities – which include firework shows, light shows and artistic performances – will also be held in the park. [Photo provided to gojilin.gov.cn]
