Changchun Ice and Snow New World set to open in December

Construction has begun on Changchun Ice and Snow New World, a million-square-meter amusement park which is set to open for business on Dec 12 in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province.

More than 670,000 cubic meters of ice and snow will be used for the construction of six themed areas in the park, which offers some 160 ice and snow buildings and creations, including colorful ice towers, ancient castles and snow sculptures.

The park, combining Chinese and Western styles, will provide an engrossing world for winter visitors.

Activities including firework shows, light shows and artistic performances will also be held in the park.
