Jilin launches parallel imported car bonded storage business
A truck carrying two Mercedes-Benz cars arrived in Changchun Xinglong Comprehensive Bonded Zone for inspection and bonded storage, according to Jilin Daily on Oct 25.
The cars are the first goods to arrive for bonded storage in Northeast China's Jilin province since Changchun was approved as a parallel import car pilot zone in December last year.
The bonded parallel-import cars departed from Vancouver, Canada, and arrived in Changchun after nearly two months.
The bonded storage of parallel imported cars is one of the 21 measures launched by the General Administration of Customs to support the high-level opening-up and high-quality development of comprehensive bonded areas.
After the implementation of this measure, parallel-imported cars no longer need to pay taxes and clear customs, but are allowed to directly enter bonded storage in the comprehensive bonded area.
There is no time limit for the bonded warehousing of parallel-imported automobiles, which will facilitate the rational allocation of funds for importing enterprises and greatly reduce logistics and operating costs for parallel-imported automobile enterprises.
According to Changchun customs, bonded storage has effectively reduced the waiting time for consumers. Cars that can be delivered to customers within two or three months of purchase can now be delivered to customers close to the same day of purchase.
Next, Changchun customs will focus on the pilot work of parallel imported cars and build the Changchun Xinglong Comprehensive Bonded Zone into a distribution center for parallel imported cars in Northeast China.
