A fish migration channel has been reopened at Fengman Dam in Northeast China's Jilin province, and a total of 54,000 fish have passed through the channel since the facility's trial operation.

The fish migration facility at Fengman Dam adopts the design scheme of "fish collection system + fish lifter + discharge system.”

The facility consists of a fishway collecting system surrounding the tail water channel, a fishway observation room, a fish raising machine system, and a fish releasing system.

The project officially started in July 2018, construction was completed in April 2021, and automatic trial operation began in July 2021.

The fish migration facility at Fengman Dam is currently the most advanced and intelligent fish migration system in China.

The State Grid Xinyuan Fengman Construction Bureau has conducted in-depth research on the aquatic ecological habits of the Songhua River and methods for attracting targeted fish.

It has continuously adjusted and optimized the operation mode of the fish migration facility. During the implementation process, it has overcome various technical problems and ensured the continuous and stable operation of the facility.

The fish migration channel has effectively promoted the gene exchange of rare fish species, maintained the aquatic biodiversity, and protected the ecological environment of the Songhua River Basin.
