A footpath is currently under construction along the Chagan Lake in in Songyuan city, located in Northeast China's Jilin province, and is set to open for operation in September, 2022, according to local media reports.

Trial operation for the footpath will be carried out in September this year.

Chagan Lake is one of the 10 biggest freshwater lakes in the country, and in recent years the lake's environment has been improved with the implementation of water quality remedial projects. The lake is now developing as a national 5A scenic spot.
