Jilin province in Northeast China has been making positive strides in rural revitalization through green development, according to local media reports.

Yushu, the country's largest grain-producing county, accounts for about one-tenth of the province's grain production capacity.

Yushu adheres to comprehensive agricultural measures such as returning straw to fields, reducing pesticides and controlling fertilizers to improve soil fertility and protect the black soil.

This year, the protective farming area in Yushu has reached 3.09 million mu (206,000 hectares), accounting for 71 percent of the Yushu's corn planting area, which ensures that the grain output is maintained at 3.5 billion kilograms.

Jilin province has promoted green development in its agricultural industry. Up to now, 1,454 labels of high-quality green agricultural products have been effectively used, and the environmental monitoring area of high-quality green agricultural products has reached 6.2 million mu.

The province focuses on the high-quality and high-efficiency development of agriculture, and develops 10 major industrial clusters including corn and rice, miscellaneous grains and beans, and ginseng, which are based on the development of the entire industrial chain.

At present, there are 189 key projects reserved in the province, with a total planned investment of 42.2 billion yuan ($6.51 billion).

Jilin has laid out primary processing and intensive processing of characteristic agricultural products, and builds modern agricultural industrial parks and industrial clusters with advantageous characteristics.

So far, the comprehensive mechanization rate of crop cultivation and harvesting in Jilin has reached 91 percent, 21 percentage points higher than the national level. A total of 37.81 million mu of high-standard farmland has been built.
