Jilin records fiscal revenue growth in Q1

The fiscal revenue of Northeast China's Jilin province hit 34.03 billion yuan ($5.27 billion) in the first quarter of 2021, a year-on-year growth of 31.8 percent, according to data released by the provincial finance department.

The growth rate was 10.1 percentage points higher than the national average across all provinces.

With regard to major taxes, added-value tax and corporate income tax increased by 26 percent and 22.6 percent respectively year-on-year, due to the continuous improvement of corporate production and operation.

Driven by the commencement of investment projects in the province, land-related taxes such as deed tax and farmland occupation tax increased by 59.5 percent and 27.1 percent year-on-year respectively.

In terms of key industries, the wholesale and retail industries with rapid tax growth at the local level increased by 80.3 percent year-on-year, the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry increased by 75.7 percent year-on-year, and the automobile manufacturing industry increased by 72.5 percent year-on-year, driving a total increase of 18.2 percentage points in the province's local tax revenue.
