The first group of 145 medical workers from Jilin province who helped treat patients in Wuhan, in Central China's Hubei province, returned to Changbai Mountain in Jilin province on March 22, together with four media professionals, according to local officials.
The medics were mainly from the 11th Jilin medical team sent to Hubei province, who helped at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. After returning, they will spend two weeks in a hotel at Changbai Mountain, officials added.
Bayanqolu, Party chief of Jilin province and Jing Junhai, governor of the province, welcomed the medics at Changbaishan airport.
The Party official said at the ceremony that more than a month earlier, Jilin sent a total of 1,209 medical workers to assist Wuhan in 13 groups and they had made great contributions in protecting and saving people's lives.
Now on behalf of Jilin's 27 million people, the Party chief expressed regards and respects to the medical workers.
China Southern Airlines Jilin Branch transported the medics from Wuhan to Changbai Mountain, and prepared flowers and dumplings for them.
A gateway ceremony was also performed at Changbaishan airport, which is the highest etiquette in the civil aviation sector to show respect or to host important commemorative activities.
