Jilin sends 392 medical staff to aid epidemic control in Hubei
|Responding to the call of the National Health Commission, a medical team of 392 members from three hospitals in northeastern Jilin province was sent to central Hubei province on Feb 7, to help fight the novel coronavirus outbreak there, local officials said.
The three hospitals are the First Hospital of Jilin University, the Second Hospital of Jilin University and the China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University.
The First Hospital of Jilin University sent 30 doctors and 100 nurses to Hubei, ranging from 24 to 63 years old.
In addition, 31 among the 130 medical staff are CPC Party members, who set up a temporary Party branch before departure.
To date, the First Hospital of Jilin University has sent a total of 206 medical workers to aid Hubei province.
The Second Hospital of Jilin University sent 132 medical workers to Hubei, in the wake of the 36 it sent previously.
Qin Yanguo, deputy director of the hospital, said that to ensure medical workers' safety to Hubei, the hospital had sourced the best protective materials available in the shortest time.
The team had confidence it would make a difference in Hubei, Qin added.
The China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University also sent 30 doctors and 100 nurses to Hubei, who all have rich clinical experience, officials said.
