University students create snow sculptures in Changchun
|The fifth China Changchun university students snow sculpture competition provided some magical moments and sights by the time it concluded on Dec 9 at Changchun World Sculpture Park -- in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province -- according to the organizers.
Hosted by Changchun municipal people's government, the event was part of Changchun's efforts to create special winter tourism features in the city and enrich people's winter experience.
A total of 303 sculpture designs were submitted to the organization committee before the competition, from which 36 design teams were invited to create sculptures.
Some 100 university students began making snow sculptures at Changchun World Sculpture Park on Dec 6, and finished their work before the afternoon of Dec 9.
Five sculptures were given awards, including works created by students from North Minzu University, the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Guangxi Arts University, and Harbin Normal University.
