School of International Winter Tourism unveiled in Jilin

The School of International Culture and Tourism (School of International Winter Tourism) of Jilin International Studies University was officially unveiled at the university in Changchun, capital of Northeast China’s Jilin province, on Nov 27, according to university officials.

Yang Andi, director of the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Qin He, president of Jilin International Studies University, unveiled the nameplate.

Officials said that with the cooperation of the department and the university, the school will focus on education, personnel training and research on the winter tourism sector in Jilin, to promote the province’s culture and tourism industry.

They said it represents the first school in the province with a focus on theoretical research and personnel training in the international winter tourism sector.

Addressing the unveiling ceremony, Qin said that the establishment of the school was part of the university’s efforts to support Jilin’s revitalization and also an important move to cultivate international professionals.

The school currently offers two bachelor’s degree programs for tourism management and hotel management, with more than 500 teachers and students, including international students from Russia and Indonesia.
