Straw-made handicrafts dot Jilin’s countryside

Fanciful straw-made fruit objects decorate the fields in Wangqing county, in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture in Northeast China’s Jilin province. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
There were made by Wang Bo and his partners. Wang returned to his hometown in 2017 and leased 2 hectares of land to plant rice.
In the fall, they make handicrafts with straw and place them in the fields, attracting nearly 100 visitors every day.
Wang said he hoped his straw handicrafts would help drive the local rural tourism sector.
