Russian teenagers tour Jilin province
|A total of 460 teenagers from Russia’s Primorsky Territory are currently visiting Northeast China’s Jilin province, according to local reports.
The opening ceremony for the activity was held in Hunchun, in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture, on Oct 29.
It was held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China-Russia diplomatic relations and deepen the links between the two countries.
In 1990, Jilin province and Russia’s Primorsky Territory established a partnership, and have since deepened their cooperation and exchanges in the economy, trading and in culture.
In September, Jilin province hosted the “Culture China, Charming Jilin” series of cultural activities in Russia’s capital Moscow.
Officials said the on-going visit is also of great significance to promoting cultural exchanges between Jilin and Russia’s Primorsky Territory.
Hunchun, located in eastern Jilin, borders Russia and therefore cultural exchanges between two places are flourishing, officials said.
The city has hosted a number of cultural activities and established a China-Russia youth exchange center, providing an exchange platform for teenagers in the two countries.
Officials said the event will run to Oct 31. During that period, Russian teenagers will tour around and experience Chinese tea art, traditional Chinese culture, as well as visit museums in Jilin province.
