An activity to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival was held at Jilin International Studies University in Changchun, capital of Jilin province, on Sept 11. This year's Mid-Autumn Festival falls on Sept 13.

More than 70 international students from 13 countries including Italy, Russia, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Spain, and France participated in the celebration.

They learned about Mid-Autumn Festival traditions, sampled moon cakes, and learned to make lanterns.

The university first began holding such classes in 2014 in order to promote Chinese culture. It has since offered more than 200 cultural classes to international students.

In March 2016, the university established a "Chinese culture workshop", where foreign students can learn about the Chinese language and culture.

Every year, more than 300 international students from over 20 countries attend Jilin International Studies University.
